Concept

Dear colleagues interested in Buddha's teachings!

The present project comprises 11 topic areas on Buddhism.
They were compiled on a voluntary basis by people who have many years of pedagogical experience in teaching at schools as well as being practicing Buddhists of the Diamond Way. This ensures a sound understanding of Buddhist content through authentic teachings and meditation experience in a transmission lineage.

The knowledge has been didactically and methodically prepared in a contemporary way for teaching in Secondary Level I (approx. 10-15 years) and Secondary Level II (16+). The material for level I is simpler and easier to understand, while the material for level II is more abstract and advanced. The teacher, who knows the class, chooses the appropriate content.

The topics can be arranged like building blocks placed on top of each other, depending on interest and curriculum. To facilitate selection, an overview of the contents in short form of each lesson is prefaced.

An introductionary text is provided for each topic. A Course of lesson provides a brief overview of the lesson's learning objectives as well as its sequence with use of the provided teaching materials. The sheet is visually designed as a learning path to follow to achieve the learning objectives and is read from bottom to top.

The students work mostly in partners and small groups using the Materials and Worksheets, associated Answers to Worksheet are attached. The teacher does not need any previous Buddhist knowledge. The material is self-explanatory. Graphic symbols suggest social forms for the lesson.

Didactic references provide an explanatory guide to organizing the learning process throughout the lesson, with additional notes providing background knowledge.

The offered teaching units are intended as an offer for teachers who want to convey authentic knowledge about Buddhism in ethics, philosophy or religion.

At the same time, the comprehensive themes of human existence, such as the questions of happiness, responsibility and meaningful life, are always touched upon.

Meditations to try out complete the material. These meditations can be done with the students without prior knowledge and explanations. They are referred to in some lessons.
